Important Web Hosting & Security News

Brand New Servers

Over the first 10 days of September we will be migrating all our hosting clients over to our new, super-fast web servers in order to offer you the latest generation of server software.

One of the key reasons for this is to enable client websites to benefit from the latest version of PHP (the core for most websites using a CRM like WordPress).

Worldwide, the hosting industry is seeing speed increases of 200-300% in page load times, simply by upgrading to PHP v.7.1 (your website is currently running on v.5.6).

In addition, we will be tripling the amount of available RAM (further increasing your page load speed) as well as increasing our basic disk storage capacity for all accounts, no matter what current hosting package you currently have with us.

The good news is that this is all at no extra cost to you.

The migration will be completely ‘seamless’ with the actual ‘switchover’ scheduled to take place between 00:01am – 03:00am on Sunday 10th September (all times local UK).

Not Having HTTPS may start to hurt your business very soon.

Thanks to Google’s new policy, you could see a huge drop in traffic as users navigate away from your site, starting as early as in the next  2 months

That’s because Google Chrome is starting to mark sites that don’t use HTTPS as insecure.

Now, for several years they’ve been promoting a policy of “HTTPS everywhere”, but recently they’ve really started to ramp it up. On August 18, they sent this notice to all webmasters, including us:

“Starting October 2017, Chrome (version 62) will show a “NOT SECURE” warning when users enter text in a form on an HTTP page, and for all HTTP pages in Incognito mode.”

So one of the first things visitors see when deciding to navigate to your site is a huge red warning.

With the recent upsurge in cyber attacks, cyber terrorism, and cybercrime around the world, people are being very cautious about which sites they choose to visit or share personal information with.

So a big “NOT SECURE” warning is only going to hurt your returns.

If we’ve learned anything from the past, every other browser will soon follow Google’s example, like dominos falling in a row. Pretty soon, every single browser will be stamping that big “NOT SECURE” warning on any page that isn’t using secure connection (SSL certificates in technical terms).

Which means users across the world will be tripping over themselves to leave any site that’s insecure.

So from now until September 7th, our Web Support Team are pleased to offer you:

Your website secured with SSL for only £75*.

SSL ‘Certificates’ can cost from £50-£200 per year but, exclusively for LA Marketing clients during our server migration we offer:

  • Your SSL Certificate FREE for life
  • Conversion of all your web content to be SSL ‘compliant’.
  • ZERO risk of your visitors becoming ‘nervous’

After 10th September this service will revert to our standard price of £139.
